There’s so much going on in my little world right now! I’m about to do my very first market – which I’m so excited about, but nervous at the same time. I almost didn’t apply for this market – and the reason is that it falls on the day after my oldest son has his graduation and formal! Eek!
And it’s only a week away!! I can do this … I CAN do this …
So, the week ahead is going to be huge and I’m busy making sure I have enough to fill my stall with goodies, like this Christmas bunting which I’ve made from antique sheet music:
And my mum has been helping me sew cushions:
Here’s a little stool I made over this week. It was looking very retro, but too plain for my liking with that seat cover needing major attention.
I picked out some fabric – a hessian (burlap) key pattern
I took off the old cover and used it as a template for the new fabric.
I cut the side length to wrap around, and the circle for the top.
Pinning them carefully with right sides together.
Here it is upside down getting a fitting:
Next, I got out the trusty staple gun and tucking under the edges, stapled the cover in place on the under side of the stool.
And here it is all finished!
“What is that dangling from the seat?” I hear you ask!
THAT is my new business card which also becomes my label tags/price tags.
I was so excited how they turned out.
Now I can price my larger items with these for the market next weekend, by writing a description and price on the back of the business card.
The market I’ll be at is located on the south side of Brisbane if you are local and would like to pop in. Please come and say hello!
They will have approximately 40 stalls. So get ready to do some Christmas shopping.
