Here, above is the chair I started with. An old dining chair with upholstered seat.
I began by removing the seat section and taking off all the old upholstery. Removing those old tacks can sometimes be hard work!
Then I gave the chair a spray paint as in the pic below (on the right). One coat of sealer/primer, and one coat of Dulux Raw Cotton 1/4. Because I used my spray paint gun I could get a good coverage and thats why I only needed one coat.

Then I got to work on the seat using a drop cloth canvas fabric, I printed out the font I wanted to use, and using the light coming in from the window, I carefully placed the printed words behind the fabric and traced over them with fabric marker.
Sorry I missed pictures of this step!
Here is a picture of the cut out fabric, placed over the seat ready for stapling.

This is the underside of the seat. Carefully making sure you pull tightly on the centres of each side first, stapling as you go, then work towards the corners.

I then covered the underside with some upholstery backing to cover all the inner workings and making for a nice finish.

This is the finished seat. And just like the wooden chair in my previous post, I used the same lyrics from one of my favourite tunes …
(My girls wouldn’t let me part with the last chair, so I had to make another one to sell, so this one should be on my ebay store or page)

What a wonderful world, indeed!!
