I went to a garage sale on Saturday morning and came across a few treasures I thought I’d share here.
I am not usually a collector of bottles, but these were so cute and old I couldn’t pass them up!
Among them I was excited to find this old Queensland Golden Circle bottle, complete with a pineapple picture and logo.
And so was my 10 year old, who LOVES anything “Pineapple” at the moment!
And an old Schweppes softdrink (soda) bottle:
This old jar is a Bushells Tea jar. See the next pic below it for the logo on the bottom of the jar.
This bottle below has the words “Pain Killer” on one side …
… and “Vegetable” on the other side. I’d love to know why? Sounds a bit conflicting. Was there really a vegetable type of pain killer?? Would love to hear anyone’s insight if you know your bottle history. (comment below)
Wording on this bottle is: J.C.Eno’s Effervescing Fruit Salt
And the one below says: HAUTHAWAYS
and PEERLESS GLOSS and Made in USA on the other two sides.
Some more coloured glass bottles … A Bovril bottle …
Including a Bonox bottle:
and some other cute Apothecary vessels.
Below: H.C.Stephens – London
Herco Pty. Ltd.
Would you believe this still has a Peppermint type of essence still in it!
This logo is on the back side. I don’t recognize it – do you?
Here are some other treasures I came home with:
This medicine cabinet! I can’t wait to do this one up. What a perfect little cupboard to store these old medicinal bottles in!
A couple of old drawers! I love upcycling drawers into shelves to hang on the wall.
Some great old frames that I hope to do up for the in Cleveland this Saturday.
Love this old picture here too. Can’t see it clearly here, but this little child is sitting in a lovely French looking chair.
