Restoration of the Soul …
It was so good to get away for some “restoration of the soul kind” this week! Destination: Gold Coast
Getting away from the “normal” of your every day routine, can breath new life and perspective into your dreams and goals. Marty and I enjoy being with each other, even after 23 years of marriage. Both having our own businesses is challenging at times, and I must admit, it was hard to put the phone down and stop answering messages and emails! Can anyone relate? What IS that? Here we were on a lovely holiday and still feeling compelled to check our phones every so often (I won’t say how often, because then I’ll feel more guilty.)
But we DID take time out to enjoy the beach …

Marty & I having a sand & surf pedicure!
Re-live memories …

This is the lighthouse where Marty proposed to me just over 23 years ago.

He surprised me with a picnic on the rocks at the lighthouse!
And take rock pool selfies …

We did also explore a couple of local antique centres and before we headed home, we dropped in to see Anjie, from Shacked Up Second Hand Furniture at Southport.
I first met Anjie (along with her assistant, Summer) at our Fusion & Miss Mustard Seed retailer training weekend last year, as Anjie also stocks both of these paints, along with a new chalk type paint to her range called Made by Paint.

Check out those beautiful knobs!
Anjie has a beautiful range of furniture and homewares in her Southport shop and serves delicious coffee & devonshire teas. I took the opportunity to take several pics of her wares while we were there to share with you all, so enjoy this feast of shabby goodness!!

I spy Marty in the background checking his phone!!

This green cabinet is a meat safe with the screens either side. Love these shutters too.

Turquoise mirror envy!

Adorable vintage crates!

This whole dining setting painted with Made by Paint.

Minty freshness and sweet knobs for such a feminine touch to this bedside.

Shutter LOVE … Vintage desk LOVE…
Do you know of any other great Second Hand Furniture or Vintage shops in South East Queensland?
Pop them in the comments below, and let’s see how many we can come up with…
