Weekend Projects – A Chair and A Futon

Just a couple of Before/After pics of two projects I finished this last weekend:

An op-shop chair I picked up, all sanded back ready to paint in this picture.

Painted with Dulux Raw Cotton 1/4, and added lyrics from an all time great song, using my mod podge method. (See previous posts here for tips on how to do this)

My other project this weekend was an old futon couch that a friend had given to us. Took a while to sand it back and give it an undercoat, so this one actually went over 2 weekends.

This was the view as I was spray painting the underside of the back! Such beautiful days as we finish our winter here in South East Queensland, Australia!

Then finished with Dulux Raw Cotton 1/4.

And here it is in our living room – a cosy place to curl up and watch telly and a spare bed for extra guests!
I plan on re-covering the futon mattress sometime, but for now, have used this chocolate fitted sheet until project “sewing day” comes along.
